Troubleshooting a handling issue
I have this handling problem that I haven't put my finger on yet.
First up I have an EF8 CRX with Tein SS coilovers, front and rear upper and lower struts, 15" lightweight rims and potenza GIII tyres all round (90%+ tread) and full polyurethane bushings. All recently fitted, balanced and aligned by a workshop.
From about 70kmph and upwards any sort of sudden steering manauver - particularly if I go left then right fast, like what you would do changing lanes quickly, I get this "wandering" sensation from the front. Some people have suggested that my stock swaybars aren't stiff enough, but it honestly doesn't feel like something that would happen normally even to a fully stock family car.
Seeing as I've just had my suspension worked on, I'm thinking it could be more steering related. There is a humming sound that seems consistant with turning the wheel, so I thought maybe the power steering pump is having some dramas. But would that alone cause such a wandering affect? I mean it feels dangerous!

At 70,000 mph, of couse it will feel dangerous.

Your PS pump would just make it harder to turn the wheel. It sounds like something is loose, which is easy enough to check, or your alignment is way off.
I've also had problems with polyurethane RTA bushings binding, but that normally caused the rear to swing out unexpectedly under hard cornering.
Also, keep it under 60,000 mph. Any faster is irresponsible.

Thanks for the responses, but I was talking in kilometers per hour, sorry. 70 is particularly slow - which is the point I was trying to make.
I'm just hesitant to believe that the workshop would leave me with an unpredictable and unsafe car after how much cash I shoved their way.... :/
