Default trouble with autometer cobalt gauges

my bro just bought a 94 civic hatch and it has previously installed autometer cobalt series gauges, a tach w/ shift light, boost gauge(electronic), and an air/fuel gauge. the air/fuel functions properly, but the tach looses power when the headlights are turned on, when they are turned back off, the shift light blinks, and power comes back. and the boost gauge pretty much picks a number on either side and sticks with it, sometimes the needle sticks on 30lbs, other times, 0 it has no movement at all, just a stiff needle on a number.
with any old boost gauge i would know what to do, but this is my first expierence with an electronic boost gauge.

any help appreciated
