anyone know of some books on rebuilding honda transmissions?

how much different is a d series trans than a b series?

i already have a 98 integra helms and i dont really want to spend money on a civic helms just for a rebuild.

apparently theyre very different. i just started taking apart my y8 to install lsd. b series tranny the gears just pull out very easy but da y8 gears are all bolted down somehow. haven't goten to the bottom of it yet. m still searching

They should come up and out of their place as a unit with minimal fuss, similar to B series.

<U>This</U> is in the FAQ, it's for a B series, but is really pretty similar to your D. Change holder is a little different.

The shift change holder is different on the D-series transmissions. You only have to remove one bolt on the D-series trannies to allow the gears to pull out of the change holder.

You could always check out this site.. they are a shop that does transmission rebuilds themselves, but there are a lot of good information on their blog about Honda transmissions. http://www.twincharlotte.com
