If a transmission has no vin plate on it, how can you go about verifying which transmission it is? I see codes like S4, or Y1 or stuff like that. Do those codes tell you which is which, and if so can someone list them or direct me to a link or something?

go to that and go to transmission tech, that should help you out. and yea you can tell what tranny it is from those codes. hope that helps
