Transmission identification help please!
can anyone tell me how to identify what tranny is what? i have a b series tranny that says s80 on it and i need to know which one that is. Also will all b series intermediate shafts fit the same?
You'll have to remove the case and count the gear teeth on the countershaft and mainshaft to be sure of what you have.
If it is a 96+ tranny, it should have a VIN on it. You can tell what kind of car it came out of from the VIN obviously.

Yeah, VIN or counting teeth. The good news is that you could have an older GSR tranny or a CTR or ITR. The bad news is that you might have a newer LS tranny.
Here is a website where you can see the ratios, better reference for when you are counting teeth.
