Default transmission Help please

ok so i broke my bell housing where the back motor mount bolts up. no biggie i went and bout a GSR casing. ok got everything swapped over and went to put the casing on and it goes all the way down but theres a gap still less than a inch. i've hit it down softly moved it tried gettin it to do down but wont move no furtur. Anyone know what my problem is im stumped.

There is a reverse hub guide plate on the end of the mainshaft that must be aligned with the notch built into the bellhousing. It has a small tang that sticks out. Face that piece toward that big vent on the bellhousing, and it should slide right down. Ideally you should have the mainshaft clearance rechecked since your using another housing, to make sure all your clearances are still within specification.

if the tab is pointing straight up perpendicular the floor of the transmission, then you probably just need to wiggle the gearhousing till the shift fork ends and your bearings go into their holes...works easier for me to have it in 3rd or 4th gear before you try and line everything up so the case closes. it either will or won't go down. don't force it. wiggle wiggle
