Default Transmission gurus

I have a gsr tranny and a b16a tranny. Can I drop the main and counter shafts from the b16 tranny into the gsr tranny? I have a LSD mounted to the gsr ring gear. So in theory this will create a us spec type r transmission. I am experienced at transmission repair and have physically sat the b16 main and counter in the gsr transmission and they seem to fit fine. But I was just wondering due to the fact that the b16 diff gear is smaller. I don't wanna close this thing up to find out I screwed up.

I would take a very close look at the gear on the countershaft that mates to the ring gear. If they don't mesh perfectly, you will destroy the ring, shaft, and possibly the rest of the transmission.

If they don't mesh correctly, maybe try swapping the b16 gears onto a GSR counter?

-- YES you can (assuming you have a hydro B16 main + counter shafts). I've had this specific tranny gear swap performed in the past.

i have a usdm type r tranny, b16a tranny, and a gsr tranny, my type r synchro hubs went out,and i was planning to take the lsd out of the type r tranny and put it in the b16a tranny since the gear ratios are exactly the same, the guy that is looking at my tranny said that the lsd will not fit in the b16 tranny, is this true??? and then they give me a call back saying that they can put the lsd in my gsr tranny and it'll be no problem.... right now i'm going all motor, i need to decide what to do, i'm thinking about using the lsd on my gsr tranny and rebuilding the b16 tranny, the type r tranny is goign to cost me about a $1000 to fix and right now i just don't have the money... any feedback will help out! thanks
