Which transmission fluid?
Which transmission fluid would you guys recommend for a 92 prelude tranny(M2A4) w/ NO LSD. *My 3rd grinds a little when shifting fast.

I had a 5th gear grind at high rpm, and a 3rd gear grind when shifting too fast in my JDM Y1. Changed the tranny fluid and refilled it with Honda MTF. My grinds are gone, flawless operation now.

I know it sounds funny but I have heard nothing but good things about GM Syncromesh with the B-series trannies especially from those people with the 3rd gear grind...search under tranny fluids in recent and archived and you will find what other people said about it as well.

if your going to buy it make sure it is the friction modified version. do a search here and try to find a picture of the difference. if you can't find the friction modified gm syncromesh then i think u should go with honda mtf. honda mtf is much cheaper also.

We use Honda MTF on all of our H22 transmissions... both LSD and non-LSD trannys, and don't have any problems or grinds with that. Used to use Redline but then the shifting began to feel too "notchy" as if the fluid was too dense. Plus, for $3 a bottle from Honda (well, our price
), you can't really go wrong.

thanks for all the input guys...after hearin everyone's opinions...i chose to go with the Honda MTF...this is because alot of people use this one and noone seems to have any complaints about it...also it being an OEM honda product...i am assuming that they have done enough R&D to make a fluid that works well with their transmissions...after swappin out my mobil one tranny fluid(i think that's what is was)...my 1st gear tranny noise went away
and my 3rd doesn't grind as hard anymore
honda MTF is great stuff!
