Default Transmission Burden

I am building a B18B for my DX hatch and am having tranny issues. What to do?

Keep LS tranny - Why?
Have a line on two rebuilt GSR's - Should I?
Try to fight the SI transmission hunt - Is it worth it?

I have a perfectly fine LS trans and am at a deadlock whith my options, What should I do?

I need a Guru!

The Si transmission's final gear is very short compared to any other B-series trans. It's great for getting into the power and staying there...but you'll be screaming going down the highway.

The GSR's final gear (the final ratio in 5th gear) is taller giving you a bit more civility on the highway.

The LS tranny is a nice tall gear for cruising, or big turbo power. I've driven an LS/VTEC civic with the LS transmission and it didn't feel "slow". With enough power, any transmission will work well.

If you have access to a GSR tranny, I would go that route.

s4c trannys are a huge difference comparing them to a ls and obviously a smaller difference when comparing it to a gsr.
gsr and si tranny have the same final drives...only ls has a different one(4.4 vs. 4.26)
gsr tranny's have a stronger differential and putting a type arrrr lsd is a bolt on.
