Default Tranny Techs!

Okay, I just put in a performance rebuilt tranny with LSD in my 00 Civic EX. It started leaking fluid, which isn't cheap by any means being $45 a case for Kaaz oil! Found out it was from the case bolts not being tight.

My question is, would just torquing them all down be okay, or do the cases need to be split and resealed??

I just don't have experience with trannies....and wonder if once the sealer is breached, whether it would still continue to leak even if the case bolts were all torqued back down.

TIA!

case = can (sorry....fast fingers I have) It was $45 for a 2 liter can.

Well, my mechanic looked over the tranny. The five bolts on the bottom of the tranny came loose and started to back out and the fluid was leaking out of the ends of the bolts. The case stayed together and so did the bond around the outter edge.

Everything was cleaned up and bolted back together with HondaBond on the threads of the bolts and all the bolts on the case were tighten back down.

Guess we'll see how it goes.
