Default tranny problem, i think

first of all when i'm at low RPM's its hard to engage smoothly, i either end up bogging the motor or it seems to be slipping. when its cold weather and i start driving there's like a quick knoking noise that can be heard.

also i have this weird sound sometimes it sounds like a spring that pops, u'd know what i'm talking about if you heard it. and its only during engaging/disangaging the clutch. and its sorta hard to repeat but its there once in a while.
could this be my clutch or something more?
btw i'm at 120K now, got the car with 85K on it and pretty sure that original owner never changed teh clutch.
the car also seems to hesitate when accelerating, i'm not sure if that the clutch slipping (just thought i'm mention)

any advice on what clutch to get (i may go turbo sometime in the near future but for now its just a dream/stupid idea) ACT...?

I'm guessing, but it sounds like a spring or two on the pressure plate went out.

If the engine RPM picks up suddenly without an equal accelleration of the car, the clutch is slipping. Could be a worn clutch, or a bad pressure plate.

For what it's worth, I've got over 250,000 miles on my '90 Civic Si... and it's STILL the original clutch. I don't drive it like grandpa either.
