tranny problem
i just got my EX tranny installed in my dx, and its kicking *** with the new clutch and everything, but i wanted to pull apart my old DX tranny, to fix the old gears and synchros, but for some reason the housing isnt comeing off? now i took a manual tranny class, and i know i had to pry a few open to get to it, but ive been prying all night last night until like 4am, and i still couldnt get it off, i removed all the housing cases. im not taking a few of the bolts off, cuz of the detent springs/*****..ya know? so duzn anybody know how to remove it other then how i am trying?
I think you need to remove the BIG bolt(cover) and open the "snapring" on the countershaft to get the case to come apart. Do you have a service manual? You should have one for this job.
Oh, You will most likely have to remove the bolts that have the ball/springs for the shift forks, or it will be a real party of things flying around in there when you get the case off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
