Default Tranny Issues

Well I just put in my new ls tranny this weekend because my other tranny was grinding. ok so I start up the car and it seemed to be in gear when I had it in neutral. But when I put it in any gear it acted like it was in neutral. After a while of just ****** with it, it seemed like it straightend itself out and the gears are working correctly now. Except you have to slam the **** outta the shifter to get it in first and second gear. Well besides the fact my dumbass didnt lube or buy a new throw out bearing and it makes a **** load of noise, when im just cruzin in a gear and push in the clutch the throw out bearing stops making noizes but it sounds like the tranny is still making wierd noises. But if im stopped and press in the clutch I hear nothing. Im afraid im ganna have to purchase yet another tranny. How much do you guys think i'd spend on fixing the grinding tranny I took out. More than its worth? These are all cable trannys by the way.
