is there anyway i can identify a b16 cable tranny when it is off the car already?

i dont wanna be jipped and think its b16 cable when its actually a ls cable

any markings?

 

look at the vin number on the tranny its located on the white barcode strip post what it says on here an i can help ya out

or count teeth

 

i cant seem to locate a barcode vin..but all i see is...."YSK-1" and there is a gold label that reads "A1-1042194"

 

If I recall, the YSK is stamped on all trannies. It's the gold label that you want to pay attention to. If I'm not mistaken, the A1 tranny is the RS/LS/GS one. I think the cable B16 trannies were Y1 and Y2.
