tranny gurus input needed.
In the process of rebuilding an S80 (GSR hydro) after demolishing the final drive. Using a Quaiffe with stock gears. I swapped the countershaft with an LS counter. I am almost positive the LS is the same as the GSR. Teeth counts match and everything. After reinstalling everything there is binding somewhere. Putting an axle in and trying to turn the tranny is very difficult. I've checked the gears a few times for misalignment but everything looks normal. Gears shift properly. I have built many trannies but this is a first. Is it because of the LS countershaft? What else can I look for that would cause binding?

you need the ring gear for what ever your using.. ls and b16 interchange ans so does type r but non do with GSR..

F*ck! I knew this was going to be the problem. Just didn't want to convince myself of that. Why the hell would Honda cut gears at different angles for different trannies. Does that make any sense? I hate car drama when I don't have alot of time (Taking a huge *** breath). I'm done venting.
