i have a 90 ls 5-speed drivetrain and it is grinding 2-3 sometimes. i do not have any real understanding of the mechanics of the manual tranny and i need to know what is causing the grind during the shift...synchros? cable adjustment? bad gear? basically what i need to know is, what do i need to get in order to fix the problem myself?

 

ls tranny are really nice for turbo cars becuse they have the longest gear pull it is commin for thrid to go out you need new synchros. For the mean time when shifting into 3rd put it in 4th then 3rd that should help.

p.s. take the tranny off yourself and take it to get repaired do let them take it off unless you got $$$$$ for labor
