Default tranny gearing question

Ok i have a gsr tranny and have access to have a b16 tranny with a broke case. I know that the b16 has closer gears but the gsr is good on top end. What i want to know is can i take the 1-3 gears out of the b16 and and put them in my gsr tranny, and keep the gsr 4 and 5? Will this work?

What will that do? I was wanting the the 1-3 to be short like the b16 and the 4 and 5 gears out of the gsr for the better top end speed. Anybody else?

Someone told me that changeing the gears will change my final drive. Is that true?

if you want gearing for the 1/4 mile use the 1-2-3-4 from the b16.. (shorter)

then use your gsr 5th for the hwy..

i'm using the 1-2-3-4 from a b16 and a 5th from an LS

like 170 mph at 8500 rpm i've gone about 6500 rpm like 140 mph easy!!

but at 70 mph i'm like 3200 rpm.. down shift and fly by anyone..
