Default ***Tranny fluid leaking out...Need some help.***

My wife has a 2000 CRV EX RT4WD.Coming home last night she cut the corner in the neiborhood a bit to sharp and went up the curb. She tells me she heard a scrape sound when it happened.

I didnt know about this and I come home from work today and there a huge puddle of tranny fluid on the ground.I ask her what happened and it took a bit for her to tell me.She also drove the it up to the store today even after looking at the fluid on the floor.Damn it why (most) females know anything about cars?

Anyways what could it be?

Mainseal?
Cracked housing?

what?

What should I check for damage without pulling it?

Thanks

BTW its Automatic of course

I took the bolt out and the head of the bolt is bent a little.Found a hairline crack in the trans. housing. Its about 1/4 of an inch long and like 1-2 mm wide if that. Its small. But thats wheres it leaking from.

Question. Will JB weld hold this over?Anything like that that I let dry for a week.

Thanks

don't waste your time with the jb weld (it might work) but you should do it right to avoid wasting your time. You shoul remove the tranny stop drill the end of the crack and get it welded. good luck

Yeah I dont like to half-*** do things but Im in a tight spot right now financially.I need something to hold until I can fix it right or buy a whole tranny.

Is there a stronger style like JB weld or is JB the best paste style?

How much pressure goes on in a tranny?

not much, unless your breather hose on the tranny housing is ristricted

yeah jb should do the trick. as they said not much pressure in the trans. just be sure to hit the area with degreaser and sand it really good so it'll stick.
