Default tranny case swap

Is it possible to swap cases between a J1 and an S1 cable tranny? I will be swapping S1 internals into a J1 tranny case. The S1 case leaks. I will also be installing an OBX LSD. any thought?

As long as they are the same spline then yes... I believe they both are small spline so you should be good to go. How is the S1 case leaking? Usually it's just an axle seal or the original honda gasket stuff cracks off and causes them to leak so resealing them usually fixes that.

the leak occurs where the case is bolted together near the front. It appears that the previous owner bottomed out somewhere because see fresh metal chips in that area. It looks they tried to fix it with some sort of JB weld. I can see the tranny fluid bead when i am under the car....i can post pics later.
