The cable Y1 B series tranny came from the JDM CRX SIR. The gearing in the Y1 is not as short as the S1 or J1 from that generation. Most of the S1 and J1's Ive seen that come from Japan were originally from the Japan Integra XSI.

The Integra XSI trannies have a 4.4 Final drive.

The Y1 tranny that you have has a 4.2 Final drive,( which affects all gears ) so its not geared as short.

The JDM Y1 tranny didnt need a 4.4 Final drive because Honda decided to use it in the lighter CRX.

**Sometimes I think the 4.7 FD in my CRX is overkill, but Im hanging on to that "gem" of a tranny! Its a 98+spec ITR JDM tranny. Only the 98+ ITR trannies from Japan got the 4.7 Final drive from the factory.
