tranny blues. PLEASE HELP!!
Ok, I'm flying down the road and all of a sudden I hear "cling!!" Kinda like I just ran over something metal. So I slow down and give the car a lookover. Nothing seems to be wrong. Later that night, I start hearing a sound...a whining sound coming from the front drivers side. Put the clutch in...sound goes away. Ride out, sound is loud as ****. So I'm thinking it's my brakes. I just checked them over and they seem to be fine. I think it might be a bearing or something in the tranny? What do y'all think?
Fork on the pressure plate? I don't know. Which fork are you talking about?
The "cling" sound was like something breaking. But the noise start til like 60 miles after

Today I just started hearing a loud noise like that. After you turn the car on and start driving it makes a really bad nosise. I too thought breaks, becasue I need new pads, but this sound was deinfalty coming from my tranny. Goes away after some driving, but still worries me. Also when pressing in the clutch it feels very squshee for the last like inch, and the tranny makes a creeking door nosie. Anything like your problem?

Just check the pads anyway. They have warning pins and when the pad gets too low, it scrapes the pin and makes a scratching and/or whining noise.

I'd get a buddy over first. Jack the car up, and put the jackstands on the LCAs to keep load on the suspension as if it were on the ground. Get your buddy to start up the car and go through the gears up to 60 mph and you sit under there (very carefully I might add) and find the source of the noise. Then let us know where its coming from otherwise were just shooting out a lot of suggestions that may have nothing to do with your problem. Thats my .02.
If its a bearing in the tranny it will make noise sitting still with the car in neutral and the clutch out and stop when you press in the clutch . I have seen clutch diaphrams break a lever or have a rivot come out and cause those sysptoms too .
