Default Tps Sensor bad reading.....

Ok I already did a search... And Found nothing that I could use..... I know the tps sensor reads, 0.5V closed and 4.5V wot. So being mine. reads 0.5V closed and 9.5V wot. So my dumb question of the day is do i have a bad tps. Or is there any other way to tell besides the volt meter.....

An oscilloscope or scan tool are the best things I've used when checking sensors but they're expensive. Just backprobe using paper clips on the connector unless you have special clips and see if it makes an analog signal.

All sensors get a supply voltage of 5v and that's the most from the PCM.

It should be a yellow & blue wire at the tps plug that should have 5 volts with the key on. I'm looking at a book for a different year so the color may be different, if you can tell me the color of your wires it would be easyer.

I can go check the wires when I go on break. and run back to tell you. which would make it a little easier

Theres 3 wires the green/blue is ground, your middle wire in the plug is your signal back to the ECU and the other wire witch is yellow/blue should have no more than 5 volts with the key on at all times.

Like I said the book I have is for a different year colors will be similer. your yellow/white is the one that should have 5 volts from the ecu so just test that wire at the tps plug and it should have no more than 5Volts,if it does you should start by taking your AFC off the car,and repeat test.

You mite want to check to make sure you don't have any bare wire being exposed from the AFC removel.
