TPS problems? Throttle surge?
So the V-AFC says throttle is at .5 - .55 volts closed. Which should be ok, right? That's the lowest I can adjust it to. On the "display" feature of the V-AFC, I get no Throttle %, is just stays at 0.0. I also have a "surging" throttle. After about 1800 RPMs, the RPMs will jump up and down badly if you try to hold the motor at a constant RPM range (like when I tried getting it inspected!). When you're driving, it doesn't seem to want to let you just barely press the pedal. Like if you try to back up, you get the surge again. Same thing when taking off on 1st. Sound like a bad TPS or do I need to adjust something?
This is on a 96 SOHC VTEC w/BBK 62mm TB.

Well, I have been having the same problem, but it applies whenever I am trying to hold the throttle in one spot constantly. I don't think it's the TPS. I think it's the MAP sensor. I have tested both components and got funky readings from both, but i tested the TPS with a DVOM, and it came out fine. So, I have reason to believe that the MAP needs replacing. The easiest way to check this, as it turns out, is to swap with someone, and drive the car. Both yours and theirs. It takes2 screws and a plug to get it off, and it sits on top of the TB, so it's easy to do. I am going to do this soon. All the MAPs are the same on every model, 92-95, so it should be easy to fing another.

Interesting...I will check that tonight. I put the Missing Link on a couple months back when I installed the new TB so I will have to takea close look. DAMN those MAPs are expensive. Anybody know a better place to buy them?
