Default Torque increase

Does anyone know a simple way to increase torque in a 99 civic without really going into the engine ?

the same way you increase hp... considering they are directly proportianal to one another... start off with your i/h/e... or if you want a lot of bottom end power with out really removing the head and what not... get a supercharger... or for more at a higher rpm get a turbo... there is also Nitrous too...

Thankx for the info, I know a supercharger or a turbocharger will do the trick, but I don't have 3 or 4000 dollars. The problem is Mexico city is 6000 feet above sea level and that considerably reduces HP and torque. I put in a high flow air filter whaich didn't do much good, and I was wondering if putting some power cables and a high flow exaust sistem would help. I was thinking of maybe changing the overhead-cam but I am not sure about that either.
About the "i/h/e", I don't know what that means...
I am really starting from scratch here...

I/H/E = Intake, Header, Exhaust...

Since you're at a higher altitude with less dense air, the more mass flow of air you can get into the engine the better...I/H/E will help with this....but nothing is like turbo or supercharging. The only other way to increase power would be to build up the motor's insides...Cams, porting & polishing, larger pistons, stroking rods, etc...

"Power cables", or ignition wires as they are commonly called, won't really do anything for increasing power. For torque I'd recommend the following:

-Cold Air Induction system
- 4-2-1 header (4-2-1 header is for midrange rpm performance, a 4-1 header is for high rpm performance.
- ...custom exhaust system that has proper backpressure...too much flow is not better actually.

It won't be huge gains, but you will feel a difference.

Adios, y tenga una buena noche.

Thanks. a cooler intake, header and exaust are a go ...By the way, how much should a decent supercharger cost ? Things are uually more expensive and harder to get back here.

A brand name supercharger will probably run around $2,500...
