That's all you need unless the head is still on the car. Then you'll need an air chuck & compressor to pressurize your cylinders and hold your valves up while you swap parts.
well i just read the descrip on the keeper tool and it says it can also install keepers so can i use that for the install too?
I'm not sure which tool you have there. Here's the one I have. It has openings above the retainers for you to install the keepers once the springs are compressed. It's easy once you get the hang of it, but w/o a little bit of grease on the end of the valve stems the keepers will try to fall off as you release the spring. If your head is still on the car then this could be a problem as the keeper is small enough to fall down the oil return passages. The holes should be jammed w/ paper towel or cloth to prevent this.

so i can use a magnet to pull the keepers though right? does tool warehouse sell one of those too?

well i found a 2 1/2 lb magnetic pick up tool... would that work to get the keepers off? and then putting them back on i put grease on the valve stem and retainer to hold the keepers in place
then decompress the spring? and anything else i should worry about?
let me know thanks

I use that same compressor, bought from the tool warhouse $77. Works good after you get the hang of working getting the keepers in place.
I think the valve tool you're referring to is the air chuck to pressurize the cylinders while you compress the springs and remove the keepers. This is only necessary if the head is still on the car because if you remove the keepers the valves will fall into the cylinder and hit the piston. Then you WILL be removing the head...which I'd do anyway. If you've never done valve springs then doing it on the car will make it even more difficlult. The keepers themselves are very small pieces of metal(2 a valve) that hold everything together. When the spring is compressed the keepers will either stay on the valve stem or fall into the head. This is why you want to plug the oil returns if the head is still on. A magnetic pickup tool is usefull for removing the tiny keepers once the spring is compressed.
