Tons of B16A Questions 4 my CRX, please help
Evening all. I finally got my dream car about a week and a half ago. Here are the stats for her so far, and questions regarding tuning:
Body
90 CRX Si
Engine & Drivetrain
B16A1
Hasport Motor Mounts
Hasport Shift Linkage & short shifter
CAI
Dual 4" exhaust tips
Suspension
Eibach Sport Springs- 1 3/4" drop front, stock back
Stock shocks
Interior
White faced guages
Kenwood CD player w/ new speakers all around
Exterior
Enkei 17" Suzuka rims wrapped in Falken ZE-502 205/40/17's
Okay, now to the questions. Right now on these rims/tires, what should I be running? I am guestimating (from my own personal experience, and what others have told me), that I should be running low 15's, high 14's. With the right rims (either 14" steelies, or 15" Konig Burners with good tires), I should be getting mid to low 14's, and maybe even break into the high 13's. Is this accurate? I dont seem to be having any problems with stangs, z28's, or even 00 Civic Si's, but that doesn't mean much. I am also guestimating about 170 HP with the i/e and recent tune up.... What can I do now to jump HP/Torque for little money spent. The rims are going to be gone this week, and better racing rims/tires put on so that's not a problem. Header is also being put on next week. What about ECU's? I saw a couple chipped ones on eBay, and they look interesting....5200 VTEC crossover, and either 9500 or no redline...Is this safe, and how many RPM can the B16A handle constant. I am also thinking about cams. I am not exactly sure what year teg it's from...it's either 90-93 GSR (what someone else told me), or 95 Del Sol VTEC....so if I get parts for 90-93 GSR, I should be okay...correct? Really I'm just looking to break 13's now, and still look good doing it. I am not going to dive really deep into the engine (cams, boring, was thinking about a skunk 2 intake manifold, but not yet). What do you guys have done to yours that make the most difference for the best prices? I am new to the club (been part of 4th Gen Civic/2nd Gen CRX and CRX clubs on yahoo for a few years, but now here), so I am looking forward to discussing the inner workings of my new baby and getting to know her better.
