Default Torque wrench for under the hood work?

I need to get a torque wrench for some under the hood work. Like valve coer, etc. I know the valve cover needs 8lbs f torque. Where can I get an accurate torque wrnech that will do really low torque like this?

Don't use a torque wrench for such small amounts, ESPECIALLY the valve cover, as you will probably snap the bolts. Don't ask how I know this. Just snug them down with a small ratchet. You really don't need a torque wrench to work on the car until you get above 20 lb-ft or so.

Go to Sears and get an inch lb. torque wrench.......12inch lbs. = One foot lb..............like $60 and well worth it

Snap On makes a torque wrench that goes from 5 lb/ft to 75 lb/ft of torque - it's 3/8 drive. But, and this is a big but, it lists for $189 or so!

Yes a small torque wrench is a very good investment. Still, I recommend against using it on your valve cover bolts. I have 4 torque wrenches, the smallest in lb-in, and I cringe at the thought of listening for the click (or snap), whichever comes first. Just snug them down with a small ratchet so we don't see as your next post "how do I extract a broken valve cover bolt?"
