I though you needed either a vacuum chamber or at least fully purged surroundings. I used 321 stainless...

BTW, I'm selling the remaining tubing if anyone's doing their own exhaust...

quote right from Burn's site..."Although it’s not easy to work with, and about 3 times as expensive as 304 stainless, Titanium is becoming increasing popular as an exhaust system material because of its extremely light weight, its excellent weldability, and remarkable resistance to corrosion."
Way outta most peoples price range... just straight pipe in a 2" is $33 a foot!!!
Why not just go with a much lighter and cheaper aluminum?

I'm looking for weight savings in the lb range at this point , I still have a ways to go before I reach min weight in my class.

I understand, though the cost/wt between 321 and titanium must be really high. Sure you don't want to buy my 321 tubing?

There's a good article in Scientific American magazine "sciam.com" I think; it's about a new development is extrating titanium from ore. This should create a big supply for TI and drop the prices a lot!
Good read!
Good read!
whats funny is Titanium is one of the most abundant minerals on earth, even more so than aluminum, the only problem is that its so much harder to extract and process into useable metal than any of the other metals. This is why its so expensive.
