Tires ?
Winter is coming to an end (hopefully) so I am in a market for some tires.
Right now I'm rolling on Kumho Ecsta Supra 712, which I am selling to my friend along with the wheels.
I was wondering what is the latest hip when it comes to tires.
Requirements:
205-50-15, must be good in dry and wet conditions.
Chicago area wheater - car doesn't see snow.
Street car, weekend racer, grip is important.
Care less about noise, good thread wear is a plus.

Well, I'm not sure if they come in that size, but the tires your selling to your friend would be something I would consider for the winter.
-Not to expensive
-All season
-OK grip.

The tires are currently on my car but I am selling them along with the wheels because I want something new and better for the upcoming spring/summer.
I wanna upgrade from that OK grip

Kuhmos are good for the money but not all that great.

I have ran kumhos for a long time. they handel awesome, they are only surpased by the new azenis as far as handeling goes. As for drag racing, you might want to look into some drag radials, at least for the summer. Or get a tire with a little softer sidewall that flexes more.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you said Chicago area winter.
I've heard good things about the Falken Azenis or even the Nitto Drag Radials... i think 555r.

It's obvious that you haven't ever used Michelin Pilot Sports, Bridgestone Potenza S-03's, Yokohama AVS 100's, Pirelli P-Zero's, the list goes on. My experience with the Kumho 712 was one of the worst I've ever had from something labeled as a performance tire.
Depending upon tire size and budget, I'd look into the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S for a winter tire. I ran them on a Porsche a couple of years ago (during the winter) and they were beyond excellent.

I need a street tire that I will drive on the whole year except winter, performance is what I'm looking for.
Nitto DR will probably give me the best grip but can they be driven in the rain?
So far I've been looking at Falken Azenis, and Yokohama AVS ES 100.
Anything else I should look at?

Azenis should be what you're looking for, just be cautious in the rain.

Aren't these posts a little contradictory. First you flame me for saying kumos are only surpased by azenis. Then you recommend azenis. Im confused.

A little update, I will probably just buy the Azenis.
That should make me a good daily driver, I might also invest in some BFG D/R's for the track times.
Thanks for the info.
