Default Tire Wear Problems----NEED SOME HELP

I am having trouble with tire wear on the rear tires(Toyo Proxes FZ4's) of my 97' Civic. I have H&R springs on it. 1.75" drop in the front and 1.5" drop in the rear. I put the Progress camber adustment kit on the front and the shims on the rear because my camber on the car was -2.5 degrees on the rear tires. I was getting unusually fast tire wear on the rear tires only and thought this would correct the problem. I am still getting the tire wear, but it is only every other tread on the inside of my tires in the rear. I can not figure it out. Could my struts be bad or not traveling correctly since I lowered it? I would appreciate some help with this problem.....Thanks

I've had the same problem. It's definitely a toe problem. It's either too much in or out so it's causing the tire to "drag" slightly across the road. I've had this problem for quite a while. The last alignment I had corrected it slightly.

It is along the lines of the drawing. My reaadings for the toe on my last alignment were within Honda specs..looks like i need to have it looked at by someone that specializes in suspension work and not the Honda dealership...

hondaatwsu is right. Once you've started with bad tire wear, it's hard to correct it. Do you check the pressure often? My last set of tires wore out really quick because they had a tendency to lose pressure rather quickly. I didn't know this until it was too late. When your tire pressure is low and your camber is more negative than usual, you'll find that the tire's "foot" is riding a lot more on the inside corner of the tire.

Now with the new set of tires, I make sure that my pressure is well above Honda's suggestion (low profile tires can take more pressure) which is around 40 psi. This set has worn a lot better than the old set and will probably last me 3 (or more) complete summers.
