Default Tire Size

I have a 2001 Civic Coupe LX, and it came with 185/70/14. Sad, so I am picking up some rims soon. I went to a site that had Tire Size Calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) which I found useful. The closest size to stock I got was 215/45/17. This should be no problem, right? It's *slightly* larger than stock and seems like it will throw off the speedo by 1%. The other option is 215/40/17, but I like the idea of having 45 series to fill the wheel arches more. Will this cause it to rub when I lower it 1"?

Oh, I just tried 225/40/17 on the calculator and its nearly perfect. Will this size work with my Civic? I know my car has bigger wheel well than the previous Civics, but I'm still errie...

225 will rub, go with 215 max on a Civic.

Are you sure 225/40/17 will rub? It has a smaller diameter than 215/45/17.
