I just recently having problems with my First Gen B16A. I think it has to do with my timing, my car is back firing and it misses every once in a while. V-tec got quiet and sometimes I don't feel it in first. I got a timing light on it and for some reason it reads 30+ I tried messing around with it but I couldn't get it to 14 degrees. The only code I have on my car is 23 which is a knock sensor but it keeps going away this is the second time the CEL came on. Can anyone help PLEASE!!!! Thanks

 

You need to check your mechanical cam timing. sounds like you jumped a few teeth on the timing belt. set your motor to tdc, your intake cam is probably off. Your code 23 is from the knock sensor detecting the missfires and detonation.

 

First of all, did you jump the connector when timing? Otherwise its going to constantly try to adjust and won't give you a good reading.

 

Ok guys I'll try that. By the way do you know what the right timing belt. I have the P2T belt on there but I don't know if that the right one. Thanks
