timing chain
my civic has around 225,000 miles on a d16z6 motor. How likely is it that the timing chain will break? Is it a good idea if I replace it? Or just wait till the motor quits working and then rebuild or swap?
I would recommend changing the timing belt. No sense in ruining the engine over a belt. Besides, if the belt breaks and engine is ruined, do you have another car to drive while you are waiting on your swap to arrive and getting it installed?
wow, talk about A person with a care in the world...which I was like that
but ya change the belt, if the motor runs nice, the change in belt should ensure it goes into over-time

alright then, I guess it is a good idea to change it. The Civic is a very reliable car. I was just driving one day and thought: that would suck if the timing chain broke. Since I am the third or fourth owner of the car, it is in my best interest to change the chain. Thanks for the advice everyone.
