what happens if my timing belt breajks on me when driving? does everythign in the valvetrain break? how much is it cost to get it replaced at a shop?

im really think that i can do it myself... is it ezier?

 

i guess it depends on how fast you are driving. two friends....two diff speeds. one drove like around 60mph, bent rods, pistons......ended up getting another engine with lower miles......other one's timing belt broke on him while at a light. just had to get another timing belt because nothing happened when it was checked out.

 

lets jus say you dont ever want your timing belt to break, why you ask? cause its a BITCH. if your the guy jus wondering whats gonna happen to the engine if it breaks, you dont deserve to be behind a wheel of a car, thats jus my opinion tho nothing personal. keep your engine happy and change that timing belt when you see 60K on your odometer.

 

Also the timing will go out of wack and mostly likely cause a valve to drop right into the cylinder.<----not a pretty site.

I hope you're saving for a new motor if that breaks on you.
