Timing Belt slipping on mini me
Hi, i got a d15b2 block with a d16z6 head in a 93 civic ex. It has a new water pump, no name adjustable timing gear, a f1 8.5 lb flywheel, and a new timing belt.
I got the car running and drove for 2 days, the car has a hard time idling so i was warming it up in my drive way to set the idle when all the sudden it made a pop noise. I check the timing it slipped one tooth forward. So i tore the cover off again reset the timing and made sure the belt was tight this time, it lasted for 3 days then i get out of work start the car and it slipped after the car ran for about a minute.
When adjusting the belt the second time I noticed an ever so slight bit of play in the tensioner pulley could this be causing my problem? I used the pulley off the b2 block and not the z6. I also used a z6 timing belt, for the b2 was too long.
Any input would be appriciated.
**Cliff notes** B2 block Z6 head timing belt slipped twice.
