Default Timing belt question.

hey, my timing belt unfortunately broke on my D16z6 thata i just swapped into my crx so i have to replace it now! i was wondering on average how long it takes you guys to change one yourselves? also i was wondering if there would be any other way to wire up my radiator fan to come on without me having to rig it to a manual switch? let me know, thanks.

If the motor is in your car there is a bit more work involved but not much... (unbolting the driverside motor mount from the chassis etc.) Again not much work at all but it adds more time... You should be able to swap T-belts in ~10-15 min pretty easily, maybe a bit longer if the motor is in the car... There's not that much too it.. just basic hand tools... It would be easiest if you had an impact gun since you won't have to lock the flywheel (if you do have one then it may take a bit longer ~30 min or so) But for you Z6 all you'll need is a 17mm socket (for the crank pulley, it's best if it's on an impact gun as i stated before) also if you have to take off the driver side upper mount, a 14mm socket for the tensioner and a 10mm for the valvecover and t-belt covers... Good Luck

It took me about 4 hours on my civic (D16Z6 as well), but that was the first time I'd ever done it, I could probably do it in 2 or less now, since I have all the right tools.

When you do your timing belt, unless you can get the right tool from Honda for it, you'll probably have to make yourself something like this to remove the crank pulley bolt (BTW, I had even tried an impact gun before I made this tool... that thing was in there TIGHT):

As far as the fan, normally it's controlled by a relay from the temp sensor, so you could do it that way... I'm foggy on the specifics of how it would be wired up, though.
