Timing belt help!!
Just did my head gasket....when i lowered my car off my jack i forgot to remove the racket from the crank...no longer on TDC and belt was off...i moved the crank pulley an inch once or twice clonkwise...i know i shouldnt but....anyway now i did the step to tension the belt sever al times...everytime belt will have nice tension till the compression stroke and then it will loosen a bit...doesnt skip teeth or anything but i notice a litle play in the belt from the water pump to intake cam...i really dont want to eat valves so please someone help!!'

Are you turning the engine with the spark plugs out? If not, take them out so it will be easier to turn.
To tension the belt, install the belt, loosen the tensioner bolt so the pulley tensions the belt, then tighten the bolt temporarily. Next turn the engine over 5-6 times. Now loosen the tensioner bolt 180 degrees, turn the crank 3 teeth past TDC, then tighten the tensioner bolt to spec.

Did that a thousand times....someone told me its normal....anyone else have this concern?? belt has strong tension than for a split second belt will have little more play in it...andthen tighten when i continue to spin it... looseness right before no 1 cyclinder hits TDC....
ANYONE??
ANYONE??
The tightening and loosening your feeling is from the compression of the valve springs. At certain angles of cam rotation, the springs will be pushing against the cams in manner that makes spinning the crank easier. At other angles, you'll be working against valve spring pressure. It's normal and much more pronouced with stronger valve springs.
As long as you followed the proper steps for tensioning the timing belt, you should be fine.
