EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!!
Most know the story...
Well, the engine was stripped down, the pistons were pretty much seized..
they have to fly out a HondaCARE rep. to assess the damage to see what will be covered...
thanks again guys!,

So you're under waranty, right? When I first started driving my GS-R, I found that it burned oil a lot more when I boned out a lot, but you'll never see the blue smoke. It's a good idea (not to harp on you) to check your oil at every gas-filling. I broke an eagle rod when my oil ran low, it can happen. If you're under warranty, take your bolt ons off and make your car look stock so it will cover your motor w/o any question.
4 quarts of oil dosent just dissappear
now over the past 3,000 miles its possible but i think you should have noticed SOMTHING.
how long has it been since the change? (like a date)
if its been a month or 2 then its possible its slowly been burning oil.
but if its been 2 months since you checked your oil level,

I shouldn't have to take my bolt-ons off should I? The Magnuson-Moss act claims that a dealer has to prove that the ACTUAL PART caused the physical damage to the engine? I don't think they can say, well..u have a CAI=more power...Rod Berings couldn't handle it??
thanks for all the info guys!

What kind of revs was the motor pushing before it shut off?
Sounds like a spun bearing, also the cam journals will probably be gone.
If you can rebuild it? you may get by for $1k or so.
I'd just find another D16Y8 for $500 or so.

So how high was it tached up?
Dealer price $3500 or more
B16 installed $2500 or so.
Doing the work yourself, ordering your own **** and having a built motor I'd go with the $500 D16 build it and go fresher and meaner. $2500 maybe less if you GB everything from here.

The dip-stick tube has been known to dislodge in B-Serie sengines. (spilling your oil) I'read two different people tell the same story concearning that. You may want to check in to that as the problem. Honda is aware of the problem and should cover it under warranty.
Good Luck.

3000 after it happened. You said you were acclerating in the original post.
The headgasket doesn't matter now. If it's knocking and you contintue to drive it you're just screwing more stuff up.
