Default timing advance jumper . . .

When setting the timing, i'm not sure about something:
I know your supposed to jump the clip under the dash so that the computer doesn't change the timing advance while your adjusting it. But when i rev the motor, the timing is still going all over the place. Isn't jumping the connector supposed to overide the automatic advance?

The timing will advance when the throttle position changes. You need to adjust the timing at idle after the electric fan cycles once with the jumper on the ECU.
