Advanced timing, can rpms go high?????????????????
i have a older honda and my rpms are really high. i have adjusted the throttle cable and the idler screw and still nothing. i should mention the car is carburated and i have use carb cleaner for the tank and the carb spray.
i suspect that the previous owner might have advanced the timing, so the question i ask is, if the timing is advanced will this cause my rpms to be high? i never really messed with any timing adjustment so i guess i'm a noob to it, so be kind.

damn, i guess i have to start trouble shooting!
thanks, i think it's the fast idle. on these cars honda put a electrical fast idle, this is why i can't adjust it.

i have checked, but i haven't seen anything. what sucks is there's like hundred damn vacuum hoses running to the carburator.
i guess it doesn't hurt to double check again. if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to reply.

what year is it exactly? and yes actually timing being advanced on the older cars can mess with the idle.
so i would take the 5 minutes and check the timing.
