Default Time to swap a block?

How long y'all think this will take? I have a D16 block I need to swap into my Civic (it's a built-block, but using existing head and manifolds). I've got a buddy whose done several swaps before, 2 extra pairs of hands, an engine lift, all the tools we'll need, and some beer. I figure 10 hours should do it, yeah?

ROFL....NO. 1-2 hours to remove engine from chasis
1-2 hours to move head and manifold from one block to the other.
1-2 hours to reinstall old block.

3-6 hours. Experience pending.

I say, with a friend. 1/2 half hour for head off. Removed shortblock/tranny in 1/2 hour no hoist. Swap the parts and replace engine from bottom with no head. Install head once rear mount and hoses are done with plenty of room while your friend helps with axles. Finish 3 hours tops after the old engine hits the ground. Maybe longer with some pot breaks.

Jeez you guys are quick! Let's hope that's the case!

Funny thing you should mention experience... Theoretical experience is good... but as we all know, theory does not equate to hands-on experience!

I think my biggest headaches are gonna be the A/C lines/compressor/pulley/etc. and the P/S stuff. I also have a turbo already hanging off of the head, so I'm undecided if I should yank that before I pull the motor, or just pull it off WITH the motor.

I have all the tools I need, save for a harmonic balancer installation tool which I'm not sure if I need... I figure if I just block the flywheel from moving, I can torque down that crank pulley w/out too much problem...

So waaay less than 10hrs, eh?

Okay... 7 hours later, we emerge with a motor successfully pulled from the engine bay. Just pulled! And that's with three guys; one of which had a shop doing engine work/motor swaps! I guess it's a little different w/ a car that still has A/C and P/S... the stuff associated with the turbo also made it a little more complex to work with as well... this is not going to be fun!

Today involves yanking the head off and putting that on the new motor, and transplanting oil and water pumps to the new motor as well. Tranny's gotta come apart, so as to put in a lightweight flywheel and a 6-puck clutch... where does the fun end?! sigh...
