Time Sert Length Question
Ok my d16A6 block has three stripped headstuds, I bought the time sert kit for 65$. The problem is that the inserts are only 11/16" of an inch long.
My solution to this is to cut threads in the head studs higher so they will work, I have not done this yet, but Im wondering if there is an easier solution to this staring me in the face. I think the longest ones they make are 25mm which still does not seem long enough. because the threads are pretty deep into the block.
Any suggestions from people who have done this please let me know!

Re: Time Sert Length Question
Ok well after looking at if further, it seems as if I am going to have to put the time sert INSIDE the Block, not gonna be easy. I will try and update this thread once I get it.

Re: Time Sert Length Question
Well guys, I figured it out. I was correct the sert goes inside the block. I just had to drill a 5/8" hole down to the top of where the old threads began, and then proceed to put the Time sert in like normal. It worked out really good. Still have a couple more to do.
