Default Time controlled Temp Gauge...

Okay a little background: I have an 00 civic si with a b16 head and b18c1 block. After doing all this damn work my car is finally running. Running moderately well at that. My temperature gauge though, is apparently not a morning person. When I drive my car during the day it acts completely normal. In the morning though it goes only to the cold indicator. The needle moves but, gets stuck not even a milimeter below the cold mark. The engine is warming up just the gauge isn't showing it. I will get in the car later and drive it and it will work fine. Anyone have ANY idea as to what this could be? It's got me confused.

check your temperature sending unit and the little one wire plug on the right/passenger side of the motor.

who knows.. corrosion. a poor connection. maybe your car is mad. but check it out and start with all of the possible easy problems.. then work you way backwards.

Take it on an easy drive on a flat freeway for about 5 miles while its cool outside and see if the gauge creeps down. If it does you may have a thermostat that is sticking open. It may just never get up to temp in the morning but then after you drive it some more and get some heat into the block it gets hot enough to register and work somewhat normal.

Do you drive mostly in town during the day? How long is your commute in the morning?

Temp stays constant while riding... Commute is about 20 minutes kind of in town. It never goes above the cold mark on the way there but, registers as normal on the way home
