Default tick tick tick

I have a ticking coming from top side of engine....comeing from between intake cam and injectors(in that area). I have adjusted the valves....what else would tick like valves? THe valve guides?

Is it a knock, or a tick?

I'm pretty sure the valves will do the ticking, and the piston/s would do the knocking. So you gotta decide for yourself. If you can hear it down below header area, it's probably the piston/s.

Have you tried an oil change?

It probably your injectors. That's normal.

Most of Honda's 4 cyl.'s do have a ticking sound to them, especially when cold. My Teg sometimes sounds like a sewing machine, and my Accord before that sounded much the same. I think these sounds are perfectly normal.

What oil are you running? I ran 10-30 in my sisters Civic but when she needed an oil change I only had some 5-30 and it seem'd make a lil bit more noise, like the sound of oil thats really thin being slapped around. Its normal.

some times if you dont use a new gauge to adjust the valves your specs could be a hair off and no matter how many times you adjust the valves they will be ticking
trust me i worked on hondas over 10 years
