This is where I'm just gonna complain about how much money my boyfriend spends on trying to fix up/modify his Acura . I love him, and I love the car, but it's just getting ridiculous.

I know that there are a lot of girls out there that feel the same way!

We all know that girls are irrational, therefore they spend their money on irrational items (like subscriptions to cosmo)

Men, on the other hand, are rational, logical creatures by nature. Therefore, we spend our money on rational items, i.e. car parts. Car parts are rational because it is important to have a car that runs well.

i like this thread. my gf spends money as fast as i do. difference is that she supports my addiction to my cars. shes just as excited to go out and street race as i am. **** sometimes shes the one that suggests it. plus now that my motor is almost done, its a topic we talk about ALOT. dialy doses of hrs and hrs of yackin about how fast we think it will b. my gf gets 2 thumbs up. and dont diss on cosmo, men read it too. i should know, my gf gets that too. it helps them get tips on better head giving, u should take a look.

girls that think like that obviously have issues with themselves and some type of funky mental problem. to actually think that the car comes b4 them is rediculous. bottom of the line is that it is insecurity. if it bothers a girl that much that guys like us on this board love to work on their cars maybe they should find another bf that will devote his every waking moment to her. i highly doubt any guy is that dumb though. jealous of car = weak mental stability = gettin rid of weak instable girl and finding someone less needy.

 

i don't think you all are crazy for loving cars....they're beautiful machines i suppose.....the only attractive part about spending that much money on it though is seeing my boyfriend break wrenches with his own hands trying to remove parts and working on it himself, now THAT'S sexy.

i'd love to know what he's always yabbin about when he talks about his car...but i don't...and i can't ask for explanations cause he goes into 1 1/2 hour "briefs" about what this is and what goes where

anyway the art of modifying it is really cool to me....but paying ridiculous amounts of money for someone else to get to do all that amazing stuff is not.......

i may not know much about cars and i may not know what goes into building one...but i've taken a very brief look around here at the pictures you guys post of the parts you've cleaned and the work you've done and how amazing and proud you feel.....i bet it's a great high to have that big an accomplishment.

to be honest the only time it really really really bothers me is how frustrated he gets when **** doesn't come through and how you can never trust that people working on your car are gonna
1. do a good job, and
b. do it in the time slot they say they will
