Is there fluid in Motor mounts?
Wondering if there is suppost to be fluid in the motor mounts. Recently, some sort of fluid has been spraying out onto the bottom of my hood over the driver side top motormount, powersteering area of the engine bay. The fluid is black and stains the bottom of my hood... it isn't oil or powersteering fluid. This is really confusing me... there seems to be no leaks either.... just every few days, there will be new sprays of this liquid under my hood. please help.
thanks in advance

edit:
sorry i stand corrected, i found a pic and the engine mount certainly is fluid filled (not very aquainted with 96+ civics)

Hrm, one guy says that there is fluid.. in my post in the civic forum.
Well, i have checked all the lines in that area very carefully... and nada. Also this fluid does not resemble powersteering fluid or oil. It is thinner than oil and black. I wiped away the spray on my hood, but it still leaves a black stain.
thanks for the response

yes, your timing belt upper mount is filled with a fluid... you can get a urathane replacement mount for it if you wish... sounds like it's time to replace your mount either way.
