In texas it is mandatory to have both a front and rear plate as well as an inspection sticker and registration winshield sticker and i believe that the inspection sticker and registration sticker have to be within a certain distance from each other. however if your vehicle is not registered in texas then definately dispute the ticket. I lived in texas for about three years and got more tickets for stupid stuff than i have ever heard of .I gave enough money to the galveston county sheriffs office for them to buy all the cops new guns and probably a new police cruiser . In texas they pull you over for anything . I personally have gotten five license plate related tickets from texas. 2 for no front plate ,1 for loose plate , 1 for having my tailgate down while i was moving the cop said he could not see my rear plate so he gave me a ticket for obstructing the view of the plate or some such nonsense.the last one was a fix-it ticket the cop said my license plate lights in the rear were too dim.basically in my oppinion ,if you live in texas you better have a good job and be thankful that texas doesnt asses dl points for tickets .
