hey guys, is there a way for me to check if my vtec solenoid is working?

I have a 91 civic si with a jdm 1.5 vtec with a pm6 ecu and vtec is engaged by an Autometer RPM activation module(I know it's ghetto but I'm poor right now and it's all I can afford)

is the solenoid supposed to click or anything when it crosses over?

I'm in the same boat...cept i hooked mine up with an MSD activated switch

 

check out the haynes manual's any one that is for a vtec car eg. integra
it tells you every thing you need to know to test your vtec

Also does anyone no if the signal sent to the solenoid is +/-???

 

its +, take it out and give it 12v from battery to hear if it clicks

remember you have to touch ground with the sol. body if you take it out of the car

 

Didn't plan on it, but still good to know
