testing octane rating !
hey ,
it there any way that you can carry out a test to find out if the stated octane is the true octane ?
here is a scenerio :-
many of my friends ( Supercharged Civics , VVTi 20valve toyotas , supercharged toyotas ,etc ) fill up at one of the local gas stations , which supposily has 95 octane, and the car runs OK . Now when they go to the Texaco station and full up , which has 87-91 octane ( can't exactly remember ) their car performs so MUCH DAMN BETTER . the car accelerated faster and the gas last longer
so i was wondering if the 95 octane station really has 95 octane ?
with none of the two gases none of the cars show signs of knocking or pinging !
