Default Testing obd1 ecu with convertion harness

Ok I have a 99ls auto, I just wanted to test the 95ls 5spd obd1 ecu I got and harness.

If I simply plug in the auto wires into the harness -> 5spd ecu and try to start it, it should start right? I understand it will probably be pissed because the auto tranny is like not being seen or recognized at all, but the car should start correct?

I just wanna make sure I can go ahead and test this and it won't break or hurt anything in the process.
